Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
